Jenny Higgins
Massage Therapy
Jenny is has been visiting your beautiful country from BC Canada. She originally came over chasing her big sister, fell in love with the place and the people, and hopes to stay forever!
She is a BC Registered Massage Therapist, studying originally in a 3.5 year program. She has been a Massage Therapist since 2013, and is passionate about her career choice and expanding her knowledge in the health field.
She finds it fascinating to determine the underlying conditions of a client, and help them get back to doing the things they love!
Since graduating, Jenny has expanded her education in Visceral Manipulation, Rehabilitation of the pelvis, Advanced Clinical Reasoning & Practical Integration, and Manual lymphatic drainage, Hurley Osborn technique, Cranio sacral, and most recently -inspired by healing a brain injury of her own- a neuromanpiulation and dural technique by the Barral Institute of Australia.
She facilitates and encourages the recovery of her client’s health with various massage modalities. Helping them find optimal balance and stability while empowering them with knowledge so they can reach their own goals with confidence and ease.
Her style of massage is dependent on the client and injury at hand, going deep into musculature and fascia as needed, always with a flow that allows the body to relax.
Jenny has found with her 14 years experience that the Nervous system is profoundly involved (and in most cases, the driver) in most chronic injuries she works on, and facilitates the nervous system with every treatment she gives. While in the midst of healing her own brain injury that took the majority of one side of her body, she really got a first class ticket to understanding dura, and the deep connective tissue connections and the huge impact these tissues have throughout the full body.
Her clients appreciate her gentle, positive attitude, her ability to listen to their needs and provide safe, effective treatment and homecare.
Working under, and learning from Sports Therapists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Chinese Medicinal Doctor’s, Physiotherapists, and Naturopathic Doctors, has significantly added to Jenny’s overall knowledge, skill set and passion for the human body, and human journey. Jenny’s greatest teachers over the years, however, has been her clients who are consistently teaching her about the body’s capacity for healing.
Jenny’s athletic background helps her understand both the inconvenience and importance of rehabilitation and likes to view therapy as an ongoing process to facilitate long-term health and living.
She cannot wait to meet you here in the Northern Rivers at either her home clinic in Alstonville, or at Retrain Health in Byron Bay.
Vincent Clerckx
Massage Therapy
Hi, I’m Vince – a newly qualified massage therapist with a Diploma in Remedial Massage. After many years of working in agriculture, I have developed a deep appreciation for the human body and a strong interest in understanding chronic pain and injury and how it impacts daily life.
Having experienced physical strain myself, I know how frustrating it can be when pain holds you back from work or the activities you love. That personal understanding is what drives my passion for helping others feel better in their bodies.
I’m excited for this new chapter and the opportunity to bring therapeutic support to those in need.
I look forward to meeting you.
Our Journey Begins
How did we end up here?
Mocean Remedial Massage began as a simple idea while we were working in agriculture — to travel Australia in our gooseneck and offer mobile massage along the way.
Vincent put in the hard work to complete his Diploma of Remedial Massage, guided by Jenny’s 14 years of hands-on experience and deep understanding of the body.
Life, as it does, had other plans. A farm mishap — where a wombat won a battle with a dirt bike — led to Vincent requiring knee surgery. This unexpected pause became a turning point.
We made the decision to head north from the Snowy Mountains in search of warmth, healing, and a more balanced way of life, and soon found ourselves in the Northern Rivers. While we never intended to put down roots, we’re now grateful to call Alstonville home, with our clinic nestled in Byron Bay.
